2018 Denver Taco Festival – Street Art Grant Presented By Fox Street Compound

Here we go again. This grant happens to be one of our favorites to award to young artists in our community.  AND this all happens from a Taco Festival. 2017 Grant recipients John Droplitz, MEL CK, Devin Urioste, Mark Bueno and UcSepia Ozjuah crushed it. Objective
Supporting an opportunity for independent artists to conceptualize and create innovative art. These projects will be focused on positive inspiration and civic involvement for the people of Denver. Each project must attempt to involve methods to create a more inclusive community and inspire others to do the same. The project will be displayed at Fox Street Compound 725 W. 39th Ave. Denver, CO 80216. The grantees will be featured at the 2018 Denver Taco Festival June 23-24.

Goals

– Develop opportunities for local artists in Denver
– Ensure diversity, inclusiveness, equality and accessibility
– Advance community building and social change
– Foster meaningful, creative experiences for youth

The purpose of this grant is to plant the seeds of community building through art. Creativity works because it is a way for us to connect to our neighbors and our surroundings. It is also a way to connect to something bigger than ourselves.
